Siena Street Scene I

This is the first view I took at about noon on Christmas Day. The post in the middle of the 'street' indicates that this is a pedestrian or bike passage only - no cars allowed on this route. Many of the streets in the medieval walled city are accessible only to service vehicles and if you want to get from place to place in a car, you have to exit one of the city gates and then enter by another one closest to your destination. Walking is the first means of transportation in Siena.
