Siena Rooftops

View of Siena rooftops from my fifth floor apartment on a typical October day. That year it rained almost non- stop for over a month giving the city this characteristic monochromatic appearance. I had arrived there on October 2nd and not until early November did I first see that golden Tuscan light in Siena. For five weeks we experienced torrential rain and winds and the window of our kitchen blew out. Still, this view with the tower of the Palazzo Pubblico in the near distance was always breathtaking in any weather and light.
