St. Ann's Academy Lantern, Luminara Festival
12 feet wide x 5 feet high x 3 feet deep, constructed of bamboo, tissue paper and glue, fitted with 92 candles
The St. Ann's Academy lantern was inspired by the heritage building on Humboldt Street in Victoria, British Columbia. I was inspired to recreate this structure as it has provided for over one hundred years an oasis in the middle of the city and functions as a refuge for all regardless of religious or non religious persuasions. It is a sacred place and therefore spiritually nourishing to all who visit.
Drawing of St. Ann's Academy today.
